Spring/Summer 2027 Private-Label Suit Range: Which Styles Lock Before the Spring Festival and Which Can Wait
A private-label brand planning spring/summer 2027 has a problem that a custom shop does not: the range is a set of styles, each with its own state. One style was sealed last spring and just needs a reorder. Another is new and has never been sampled. A third is a new cloth on an old block. The Spring Festival break (Chinese New Year is 6 February 2027) cuts through the middle of that plan, and each style needs a different decision.

Same lanes as a list
Lane A — new style, never sampled: sample, approval, trims lock, then production. Lock first.
Lane B — sealed block, new cloth or colour: confirm cloth; sample if the cloth behaves differently. Usually lock before the break.
Lane C — sealed reorder, same cloth: confirm cloth and size split. Can lock near the break or after restart.
Every lane uses the same clock rule: sample 7–14 days, production 14–21 days, both counted after measurements or size specs, cloth and construction are locked. Production days are not delivery days.
Lane A: new styles
A new style is the reason to start now. It needs a sample, your review, any correction, a sealed approval and a written trims list (buttons, labels, lining) before bulk can be scheduled. Lane B: lightweight cloth on a sealed block
Spring/summer ranges change cloth more than block: lighter wools, wool blends, linen mixes. A sealed block in a new cloth is not automatically a sealed garment. Open weaves, lower weights and different drape can change how the jacket sits. Decide per style whether the cloth change needs a fresh sample, and ask for cloth availability in writing — stock and mill-ordered cloth sit on different clocks, as explained in cloth stock vs mill order.
Lane C: reorders
Reorders of sealed styles are the most flexible. If cloth is confirmed and the size split is ready, they can be locked late before the break or scheduled for restart. Ask the factory in writing how orders locked during the break are scheduled after it.
Where MTM from 1 fits
Many private-label brands also run MTM from 1 for made-to-order clients alongside bulk. Those orders follow the custom-shop rules: new clients need a sample, repeat clients on a sealed fit can often go straight to production. Keep them out of the bulk lane plan so they do not crowd it.
