Fit Photo Approval with a Made-to-Measure Suit Factory
AU custom shops often receive a strong sample — then debate fit over blurry hallway selfies. At Shi Yuan Suit Factory, MTM starts from 1, and the sample window is 7–14 days after measurements and fabric are confirmed. Fit photo approval is how remote shops close the seal without flying to Tianjin.
This transactional protocol is for Australian custom shops approving MTM samples by WhatsApp photo. Not for C-end “try-on hauls.” Acumenwear is our English export site; the factory brand is Shi Yuan (Baodi, Tianjin · Chengxingwang · Est. 2009). When a sealed program later becomes graded stock, bulk OEM is from 50; production runs 14–21 days after written confirmation.

Why fit photos fail before they help
Typical failure modes we see from AU partners:
- One front photo only — no side, no back, no sleeve pitch
- Phone tilted; jacket hem looks uneven when it is not
- Soft indoor light that hides drag lines
- Client wearing thick hoodie under the sample
- Approval text: “looks fine” with no size or job number
A photo protocol turns opinion into a written seal the factory can cut against.
WhatsApp photo protocol (angles + lighting)
Shoot in this order, jacket buttoned as intended, trousers worn with the shoes the client will use:
- Front full — head to shoe; arms relaxed; even daylight or bright shade (no harsh noon shadow across chest).
- Front close chest — lapel roll, button stance, neck gap.
- Side left / side right — posture, balance, sleeve pitch.
- Back full — vent behavior, collar sit, blade excess.
- Underarm / scye — arm raised slightly to show drag.
- Trouser front + side — rise, thigh clean, break preference.
- Detail shots only for disputed points (pocket flap, shoulder seam).
Lighting rules: face a window or open shade; avoid yellow evening bulbs as the only light; do not use beauty filters.
Related handoff: measurement form · sample confirmation.
Approval message template (copy-paste)
Send one WhatsApp message after the photo set:
``` Job: [factory job #] Client / house: [code] Decision: APPROVE SEAL / APPROVE WITH CHANGES / REJECT FOR REWORK Changes (if any):
- ...
- ...
Photos: 1–7 attached in order Owner: [name] — I confirm this seal ```
If APPROVE SEAL, we lock the sample for future MTM repeats or for a later size-run discussion. If CHANGES, list measurable deltas (e.g. “shorten sleeve 1.0 cm”, “reduce waist ease 1.5 cm”) — not “make sharper.”
Capability page: made to measure suit factory · sample rules: sample policy.
How we use your photos on the factory side
- Photos are matched to the job number and measurement sheet.
- Change lists become pattern notes before any rework or production.
- Vague praise without a decision does not start the production clock.
AU timezone tip
Send the photo set in one batch with the template — not twelve fragmented night messages. See WhatsApp timezone. One owner in AU should be named so Shanghai morning can reply once.
What this protocol does not replace
- Correct first measures
- Named construction and confirmed fabric before sample
- A rework policy when defects are make-related — sample defect rework
Process overview: process.
Common AU custom-shop questions
Can we seal from photos only? Yes, when the photo set is complete and the approval template is filled. High-risk posture cases may still need a second sample.
Do you need video? Optional. Short 360° video helps posture; still follow the seven stills for archive.
Who pays for rework after a vague “looks ok” then later change? Unclear seals create remake quotes. Use the template.
Numbered example: remote AU seal in one business day
- Sample arrives Tuesday; client books Wednesday lunch fitting (30 minutes).
- Stylist shoots the seven angles in open shade outside the shop — 8 minutes.
- Stylist sends the approval template with APPROVE WITH CHANGES: shorten sleeve 1.0 cm; reduce jacket waist ease 1.0 cm.
- Factory confirms pattern notes Thursday morning Shanghai time.
- Optional rework sample scheduled — or, if changes are small and agreed, next MTM from 1 applies the notes without a second full sample (case-by-case, written).
Without the template, the same shop historically sent “looks a bit long?” across five messages — and never sealed.
Lighting kit that fits a small boutique
You do not need a studio:
- Face a north window or covered doorway (AU harsh noon sun is worse than open shade)
- One folding reflector or white foam board opposite the window
- Phone HDR off if it false-smooths wrinkles you need to see
- Same shoes every round of photos for hem comparison
Archive the set in a folder named job-####-seal. Future reorders and alterations refer to the same visual seal — not memory.
Bottom line
Fit photos are a QA instrument. Seven angles, clean light, one approval message — then MTM from 1 repeats stay consistent, and any later bulk from 50 starts from a real seal. Shi Yuan · +65 8013 8838 · houzhenying226@gmail.com
