Dinner Suit, Tuxedo, Smoking: Writing One Factory Brief When Your Clients Use Different Words
A London shop writes "dinner suit", a Chicago shop writes "tuxedo", a Milan client says "smoking", and an Australian order might say "DJ". All four may mean the same garment — or not. The factory cannot tell from the word. It can tell from fields.

Where words cause real errors
"Dinner jacket" meaning the jacket without trousers. Ask whether trousers are included.
"Tuxedo" for a black lounge suit. Some clients use the word loosely; confirm facing and braid.
"White tux". Usually an ivory or white jacket with black trousers — confirm both pieces.
