Building a Dinner Suit Hire Fleet Under Your Own Label: What Hire Shops Brief Differently
Hire shops buy dinner suits differently from custom shops. One jacket will be worn by many people, re-altered between hires and cleaned far more often than a client's own suit. If a hire business sets up an own-label fleet with a factory, the brief should be written for that life, not for a single wearer.

Same table as a list
Fit: client measurements vs your size curve.
Trouser waist: adjusters to stretch each size across more waists.
Seam allowance: extra inlay where you re-alter.
Hem: often unfinished for shop finishing.
Quantity: MTM from 1 vs bulk from 50 per style.
Top-ups: planned reorders.
The size curve is yours
We grade from your size chart. A hire business knows which sizes go out most; we do not. Send the size list and quantity per size with the order, and read size-run grading from 50 first. How a 50-piece style splits across sizes or colours is confirmed in writing — the colourway split rules show how that is counted.
Alteration headroom
State where you want extra inlay — centre back trouser seam, jacket side seams, sleeve length — and check it on the sample. Background in seam allowance for alteration outlets.
Example fleet order
A hire shop opens one black peak-lapel dinner suit style: bulk from 50 pieces, graded across its own chest and trouser sizes, side adjusters, unfinished hems, extra inlay at the trouser seat. A midnight shawl style is trialled later as a few MTM from 1 pieces before any bulk commitment.
Top-ups before peak season
Plan reorders against the clocks: production 14–21 days after the reorder is locked against the sealed sample. Production days are not delivery days; add your freight and customs lines. Ask for cloth lot continuity in writing.
Bulk fleet runs are on our private label suit manufacturer page; order stages are on our suit manufacturer China process page.
FAQ
What are Shi Yuan's order tracks and clocks? Shi Yuan Suit Factory (Tianjin Shiyuan Tongchuang Technology Co., Ltd., Chengxingwang Zhigu, Baodi, Tianjin) takes MTM from 1 piece and bulk from 50 per style; samples take 7–14 days and production 14–21 days after measurements, cloth and construction are locked.
Do you rent suits to the public? No. We manufacture for overseas businesses: custom shops, MTM boutiques and private-label brands, including hire businesses with their own label.
Can the fleet carry our label? Yes. Labels are confirmed at lock with the rest of the trims.
Does a fleet reorder need a new sample? Not if it repeats a sealed sample unchanged.
