Ivory Dinner Jackets for a Summer December: A Brief for Shops in Australia, Singapore and Other Warm Markets
In Sydney, Perth, Singapore or Auckland, a December gala often means heat and outdoor terraces. Clients there ask for ivory or white dinner jackets with black trousers more than shops in northern winters do. The garment looks simple. The brief has traps: shade, see-through, lining and how a pale jacket travels.

Same table as a list
Shade: name ivory, off-white or white with a cloth reference.
Opacity: state that canvas and pocket bags should not show through.
Lining: full, half or unlined.
Facing: self-facing or named contrast.
Buttons: named or covered.
Trousers: order black trousers with it or name the existing pair.
Warm-climate construction
Lighter construction and less lining are common requests for hot events. Our warm-climate suit construction and unlined and half-lined jacket brief notes apply. On a pale jacket, less lining also means more show-through — decide on the sample, not from a swatch.
Soiling and packing
Pale cloth shows handling. Ask for the sample to travel in the same packing your bulk or client pieces will use, and check it as it arrives. Write any packing request into the lock.
Example order
A Singapore boutique has five clients for one 12 December terrace event: ivory shawl-collar jackets, self-facing, half-lined, black trousers in the same order. Each client is an MTM from 1 piece. For a house ivory jacket on the rail next season, the shop plans bulk from 50 per style after sealing the sample.
Work back from the event: production 14–21 days, sample 7–14 days for new clients, both after measurements, cloth and construction are locked. Production days are not delivery days — add your own freight and customs lines.
Our made to measure suit factory page explains the MTM track; the sample policy covers approval.
