When does a substitute-cloth sample make sense?
- The final cloth is still on its way from the mill or from you, and you want fit checked first.
- The final cloth is costly in metres and fit is the open question.
- Agree it in writing before the sample starts, and say which cloth the substitute is standing in for.
What happens to the clock?
A substitute-cloth sample runs on the sample clock (7–14 days) from its own lock. Shade, drape and pattern matching remain open until they are checked in the final cloth, and production (14–21 days) runs after the sample approval you agree covers them. Production days are not delivery days.
