# Measurement Handoff Checklist Before Your China MTM Sample
The sample clock does not start when you say "please make a sample." It starts when the measurement handoff is complete enough to cut without guessing. This checklist productizes what overseas shops should send — by category, not by inventing a magic field count.
## What this page is (and is not)
- Is: a shop-floor handoff list before MTM sample work with a China partner.
- Is not: a universal measurement form with a claimed number of fields, a training syllabus, or a promise that every boutique uses the same tape method.
We run MTM from 1 and bulk from 50. Sample window after a clean lock: 7–14 days. Production after approval: 14–21 days (factory clock, not delivery).

## Handoff checklist — send these categories before the sample clock
Use this as a packing list for your WhatsApp thread or shared drive folder:
### 1) Identity & track
- [ ] Shop / brand name on the label path you want
- [ ] Track stated: MTM from 1 trial vs later bulk from 50 intent
- [ ] Country and rough monthly volume (planning only)
### 2) Body & posture evidence (photos, not essays)
- [ ] Front / side / back photos in fitted base layers (same lighting if possible)
- [ ] Notes on posture habits you already correct in-store (shoulder drop, stance, etc.) — short bullets
- [ ] Any mobility notes that affect jacket length or trouser rise
### 3) Numeric measures your shop already trusts
- [ ] Your house measure sheet as you use it (do not rewrite into a factory template until asked)
- [ ] Units clear (cm or inches) on every line
- [ ] Ease / preference notes tied to the garment (e.g. closer chest, longer jacket)
We do not publish a fake "N-point" system here. Send what your cutters already work from; we will ask clarifying questions instead of forcing a theatre number.
### 4) House block / reference garments
- [ ] Photos or notes of a house block or favourite past make you want echoed
- [ ] What must match (shoulder expression, trouser seat) vs what may change
- [ ] If shipping a fit reference garment, label it and say whether it may be opened
### 5) Cloth & construction lock inputs
- [ ] Cloth status: stock / you ship / mill-order ETA
- [ ] Construction preferences you will not reopen after cut (canvas idea, shoulder pad feel, key details)
- [ ] Lining / button / label direction if already decided
### 6) Approval owner
- [ ] Who on your side signs sample approval in writing
- [ ] Timezone / WhatsApp contact that will not go dark for a week
When categories 2–5 are filled enough to cut, the sample 7–14 clock can start. Incomplete posture photos plus "figure it out" is not a lock.
## Why boutiques skip steps (and restart the clock)
1. Sending only a chest/waist/hip triple with no photos.
2. Changing posture notes after the sample is already cut.
3. Asking for bulk from 50 language before a single MTM from 1 sample is sealed.
4. Mixing mill-order cloth ETA into "sample starts today."
5. Leaving construction as "surprise us on the sample."
Each of those resets trust even if the calendar looked open.
## Minimum "good enough to cut" vs "nice to have"
Good enough to cut (required for lock): identity/track, usable photo set, numeric sheet with units, cloth status, construction you will not reopen, approval owner.
Nice to have (speeds clarification): house-block photos, shipped fit reference, lining/button already chosen, monthly volume for capacity planning.
Do not delay a first MTM from 1 forever collecting nice-to-haves. Do not start cut with only nice-to-haves and no photo set.
## How we reply when the pack is incomplete
Expect a short gap list, not a silent start:

When those return, we confirm lock in writing and the sample 7–14 clock becomes real. That habit protects both sides when you later scale toward bulk from 50.
## Dual track after a clean handoff
- MTM from 1 — one client or one house trial; handoff depth matters more than volume.
- Bulk from 50 — still begin with a sealed sample path; do not skip the handoff because the later order is larger.
