Shi Yuan MOQ Explained: MTM From 1 vs Bulk OEM From 50

Shi Yuan Suit Factory (Tianjin, China) publishes two minimum order quantities. They are not the same program.

Short answer

  • MTM / made-to-order: MOQ from 1 piece

  • Bulk OEM: MOQ from 50 units

If you run an overseas custom tailor shop or MTM boutique and need a single trial garment, you can start at one piece. If you need a bulk OEM run of the same style, the published floor is fifty units.

Why the two MOQs exist

Custom shops and private-label brands do not always need factory-scale volume on day one. Many partners want to:

  1. Test fit and make on one sample

  2. Seal that sample in writing

  3. Reorder MTM pieces or move into bulk when demand is clear

The MTM-from-1 path supports that sequence. The bulk-from-50 path is for style runs where graded sizes or a sealed unit quantity make sense.

What “from 1” does and does not mean

Does mean: You can order a made-to-measure sample or single MTM garment without meeting a high factory MOQ.

Does not mean: Unlimited free remakes, unpublished dollar prices, or a walk-in retail service for consumers shopping under our brand name. Shi Yuan manufactures for shops and brands; your label is the customer-facing brand.

How MOQ ties to lead time

MOQ and lead time are separate facts:

  • Sample: 7–14 days after measurements and fabric are confirmed

  • Production after confirmation: 14–21 days (standard window)

A single MTM sample still follows the sample window. A bulk OEM order follows the production window after the sealed sample (or written confirmation) is in place.

What to send when you ask about MOQ

On WhatsApp, include:

  1. Country / destination market

  2. MTM, bulk, or both

  3. Approximate monthly volume (styles × pieces if known)

  4. Construction preference: fused / half canvas / full canvas

  5. Fabric plan (your cloth vs mill program)

We quote partner pricing on request (ex-works). Construction, fabric source, and volume change the band, so we do not publish a fixed public price list.

Practical examples (no invented prices)

  • A custom shop in Europe wants one navy suit sample for a new block → MTM MOQ from 1 applies.

  • A private-label brand wants 60 units of one style after seal → bulk OEM from 50 applies.

  • A boutique plans recurring MTM orders of a few pieces per week → start with one sample, then MTM reorders under the from-1 path.
